he Bethel Park Athletic Hall of
Fame welcomed seven new
members to the Class of 2018
on Friday, December 21 during the
halftime of the Bethel Park High
School Boys Varsity Basketball Game.
The 2018 Inductees are:
Ray Bedner (Class of 1995—Baseball
and Football) – Ray was a three-year
varsity starter in the outfield and on the
pitching mound, and guided the Hawks
to an undefeated Section Title and to the
WPIAL Championship Game in 1995. He
was Bethel Park’s winningest pitcher in
the 1990’s with a record of 16-0, which
included never giving up a homerun. Post
season accolades included the 1995 All-
South Area Team, All-Section, two-time
Almanac Diamond Dozen, including The
Almanac’s 1995 Baseball MVP. Ray was
