Meet our marketing team

The Almond Board of Australia ' s new-look marketing team include Adelaide-based marketing consultant Melissa Wyness , Marketing Officer Tom Cooper and Marketing Co-ordinator Brittany Modra .
THE Almond Board of Australia will swing into 2025 with a new look marketing team . Noted Adelaide-based marketing consultant Melissa Wyness has succeeded ABA stalwart Joesph Ebbage , who was honoured for his contribution to industry at the recent Almond Conference . Melissa ’ s role will be developing and driving strategic direction of the marketing program for the industry . To assist her will be an implementation team comprising of Marketing Officer Tom Cooper and Marketing Co-ordinator Brittany Modra . The team is based in the ABA ’ s Adelaide office at 2 Greenhill Road . Brittany , who started late last month , comes to the ABA after working as a lead copywriter and marketing communications co-ordinator for Enable Lifecare , a wholesale healthcare equipment supplier . Brittany - originally from the Barossa Valley - will be responsible for a variety of tasks including coordinating Australian Almonds events , promotional content for social media , online and a quarterly trade newsletter . In her spare time Brittany enjoys running and is passionate about health and nutrition . Tom Cooper joined the ABA in September , taking over as the team ’ s marketing officer . The former professional cricketer has travelled the world plying his trade and will continue flying overseas in his new role , supporting trade missions run under the Australian Almonds banner . Despite only being with the ABA for a couple of months , Tom is working closely with the rest of the ABA team in developing an understanding of the industry and the marketing narrative required to drive demand around the world . He comes to the position after being identified as a candidate with a lot of transferrable skills and traits suited to the role . His experiences in India and shared love of cricket is sure to help build relationships in this key market . When Tom isn ’ t working you ’ ll find him spending time with his wife Ebony and young children . Melissa Wyness started in the consulting role in July and was responsible for the Australian Almonds branding that was showcased at the conference in October . Mel is also the founder and director of Brand MO , a company that provides brand strategy , marketing leadership and project management services . She will be responsible for leading the marketing team and developing the marketing , partnership and communications strategy for the Australian Almonds brand . Mel was raised in the Riverland and has witnessed the growth of the almond industry during visits back to the region to see her parents . Mel now resides in the Adelaide Hills with her husband and three young girls . She actively contributes to various boards and committees and spends time mentoring the next generation of marketers .
