Benchmarking overdue
There are growing calls for the ABA to lead a benchmarking study for almond production . Moves are being made to develop
a process that allows the industry to gather key data on an annual basis that can then be aggregated and averaged to help growers understand their performance . It will also be used to substantiate strengths and weakness as well as opportunities and threats across the industry . It is envisaged that water use , input costs and volumes , yields and returns would be included in the confidential process . There will be more to come on this in the near future .
