Grow more with less
Precision Irrigation manufacturer Netafim Australia and New Zealand is committed to helping growers reduce their environmental impact . ABA Sustainability Officer Ella Henson finds out how growers can join in .
AS environmental awareness grows , sustainability is becoming more important in agriculture . Recycling of agricultural plastics in Australia is currently very low , which means that large amounts of plastic waste is burnt , placed in landfill , or simply left on farm . While irrigation is a crucial aspect of horticulture , dripline has a limited lifespan and requires large amounts of plastic material . With their end-of-life recycling program , Netafim Recoil , Netafim helps irrigators to dispose of their old driplines sustainably . As part of Netafim Recoil , Netafim provides advice to eligible growers on correctly recoiling their old dripline . They also assist growers in arranging the collection of their recoiled dripline . After collection , driplines are freighted to Netafim ’ s Australian recycling partners , where they are turned into high-quality recycled resin for the circular economy .
