A key element of the ABA ’ s support for the industry ’ s sustainability journey is showcasing people within our industry who champion sustainability . Our new Sustainability Champions series aims to recognise those who are doing great things in this space – from some of our large enterprises funding their own research right through to some of our smaller growers who are willing to try new things . To be successful in our sustainability journey our industry needs both , and by sharing their stories the ABA hopes to encourage widespread sustainability action across our industry .
THE ABA ’ s Sustainability Officer Ella Henson sat down with Riverland almond grower Peter Freeman in the lead up to the recent Australian Almond Conference to discuss all things sustainability – from cover crops and integrated pest management , right through to the role of native vegetation .
