Fair showcases almond careers
THE Almond Board of Australia was one of 55 organisations that attended a careers fair at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga on 3 August . The event called Approaching Ag , gave students the opportunity to discuss placement opportunities , graduate programs , traineeships and employment beyond university . More than 300 students attended the event , which is organised by a voluntary committee of students from the Charles Sturt School of Agricultural , Environmental and Veterinary Sciences . Almond Board of Australia ’ s industry development manager Deidre Jaensch said it was the first time the ABA had participated in Approaching Ag . “ There are so many job opportunities available in the almond industry at the moment , so it ’ s vital that the ABA meets the next generation of young agricultural professionals and engages with them early ,” she said .
