Interview Agenda
Interview Recruitment Criteria
When it comes to questions to ask, we have broken our interview down into 4 parts:
1. Introduction
- ice breaking
- introducing Design Change and also setting expectation for the interview
2. Interviewee Info
- We had some basic info of the interviewee prior to the interview but we wanted to go
deeper in learning about them for example, their age, where they grew up, their
education level, where they hang out, where they work, are they married etc.
- t hen link it to the last part which is about their behavior and see if these attributes,
background and demographic have any impact
3. Awareness and Education
- Before going into the core part about behavior, we want to see how aware they are
regarding waste disposal knowledge and to drill down into where they get their
information and what makes these information so memorable and stick (if that’s the
case and if not understand why)
4. Behavior
- For behavior, we want to understand all use cases of the garbage bins on a daily basis,
no matter when, where, how and what kind of bins
- Apart from the use case, we also want to understand the motivation and thinking side
ie why they do what they do and what are the painpoints (or high points if any) during
their actions

5. Photo Diary
Lastly, as you may know, people’s memory are not always the best as they tend to forget
especially for such routine actions like throwing their waste into the bin. And some
people are just not that articulated. Hence, before our interviewee leaves, we requested
them to do a mini exercise for the next 7 days. We asked them to Whatsapp us everytime
they use a bin and send us photos of the waste as well as the bin. By doing so, we can
connect what they say as well as what they do to get a more holistic view.
