practice as a Neonatal or Family Nurse Practitioner . After my first semester of nursing school , I accepted a position as a Student Nurse Technician at a local hospital in which I have gained experience on Mother-Baby , Med-Surg , Rehab , PCU , Telemetry , and ED units .
As NSNA Secretary-Treasurer , I not only hold the regular responsibilities of a Secretary-Treasurer but am also the chair of the Finance Committee and a member of both the Executive and Convention Planning committees . My goals for my term involve maintaining the accomplishments of my predecessor — NSNA ’ s previous Secretary-Treasurer , Bernesha — by continuing to ensure that NSNA ’ s revenue and spending remain balanced . I also want to work to increase membership and membership-alumni connections , augment membership benefits , and increase NSNA ’ s revenue .
I loved meeting and getting to know so many of you in Orlando back in April ! I hope to continue meeting more of you at the MidYear Conference in Louisville , KY , and the Annual Convention in Seattle , WA in April 2025 . Please don ’ t hesitate to reach out to me at secretary-treasurer @ nsna . org if you have any questions or ideas and make sure to say hi if you see me ! I look forward to seeing and hearing from you all and can ’ t wait to see how we impact future nurses this year !

Hi NSNA members ! My name is Lauren Tickner and I am the Imprint Editor and chair of the Image of Nursing Committee . I am so grateful and excited for this new opportunity !
I am originally from San Diego , California . I currently reside in Ventura County where I attend California State University Channel Islands , with a projected graduation date of May 2026 . On campus , I am involved in our school ’ s Student Nurses ’ Association ( SNA .) I previously held the position of Education Representative for the 2023-2024 school year and will serve as Communication Chair next year . I am very involved in our school ’ s chapter and local community happenings , and I am excited to bring my new skills and knowledge to the NSNA Board of Directors .
I have always had a passion for nursing because of the interpersonal connections we form with both the patients and medical community , and the constant ability to learn and challenge ourselves with new knowledge and skills ! Following graduation , I plan to pursue a degree in Advanced Practice Nursing , with a goal of becoming a Nurse Practitioner specializing in cardiac health .
As the Imprint Editor and chair of the Image of Nursing , I hope to utilize effective communication and highlight connections among nursing students across the nation . As I mentioned , I love the nursing profession because of the ability to make connections with our peers . I feel the Imprint is a wonderful platform to bring nursing students closer together and to facilitate the transition into the nursing profession . I plan to continue to grow our social media platforms to reach and connect with students in a fun and educational way .
When I am not studying or spending time at my current clinical rotation , I work part time as a physical therapy aide . I am very passionate about health and wellness and love that the nursing profession and physical therapy allow me to help educate others and influence positive and healthy lifestyles . In my free time , I am often going to the beach or spending time with friends , family , and my dog . I look forward to connecting with you all and hope that the Imprint can bring us closer . Please reach out if you have any questions or would like to be featured ! You can reach me at imprint @ nsna . org or follow us on Instagram @ nsnaimprint .
