NOMINATING AND ELECTIONS COMMITTEE
By Ricki Justiniano , NEC Western Area Representative
Hey there NSNA friends !
My name is Ricki Justiniano , and I am the Nominating and Election Committee Western Area Representative . It was an honor to meet and connect with some of you in sunny San Diego . I hope to meet more of you at the 72nd Annual Convention , April 3-7 , 2024 at Disney ’ s Coronado Springs Resort , in Lake Buena Vista , Florida . This year ’ s theme is “ Elevate : Dreams help make the impossible possible .” Information on the Convention can be found at www . nsnaconvention . org
To take advantage of all the Convention has to offer , be sure to participate in some of the many activities from the NCLEX Mini Review , keynote speakers , the Exhibit Hall , breakout sessions , elections , and so much more . There is something for everyone at the Convention . To get the most out of this amazing experience I advise you to organize your day and plan ahead .
This year , we have the 2024-2025 national office elections . During my time in San Diego , I had the opportunity to ask the members what was something that held them back from running for a position on the NSNA Board or committees . With answers ranging from time constraints to self-doubt , as well as prestige . I ’ m here to say that if I can do it , so can you . While it may take some extra effort as well as some time management , the benefits outweigh the cost . Having the opportunity to partake in a national position has been such an unforgettable experience . This position has been an amazing opportunity and I have experienced so much personal growth being a part of this organization .
If you or someone you know is interested in running , it ’ s not too late . We would love to see you all dream big and elevate your nursing school experience by running for national office . Running from the floor is a great opportunity .
