The NSNA House of Delegates Grants Dr . Diane Mancino the title of Executive Director Emeritus The 2023 NSNA House of Delegates passed a courtesy resolution at the NSNA 71st Annual Convention , in Nashville , TN , in light of NSNA Executive Director Dr . Diane Mancino ’ s retirement , granting her the title of Executive Director Emeritus . The courtesy resolution states :
WHEREAS , Dr . Diane J . Mancino has dedicated over four decades to the National Student Nurses ’ Association ( NSNA ) and has humbly and diligently served in a variety of positions since 1981 ; and
WHEREAS , her longstanding service culminated with her appointment as Executive Director in 1996 and was marked by attention to detail and commitment to advancing the quality of nursing education , specifically for student nurses ; and
WHEREAS , she has been instrumental in expanding NSNA activities and enhancing the professionalism of student nurses ; and
WHEREAS , her leadership and tireless efforts thus far have created an amicable environment in which current and future NSNA members can work collaboratively to pursue excellence in health care ; and
WHEREAS , Dr . Mancino ’ s stewardship has enabled the NSNA to reach its goals and take on new initiatives to further its mission ; therefore be it
RESOLVED , that the Board of Directors of the National Student Nurses ’ Association wishes to express its deepest gratitude for the invaluable contributions that Dr . Mancino has made to the nursing profession and to the many nursing students she has served ; and be it further
RESOLVED , that the Board of Directors of the National Student Nurses ’ Association extend its sincerest appreciation to Dr . Mancino for her outstanding tenure as the Executive Director and her determined efforts to promote the success of nursing students and the advancement of nursing worldwide ; and be it further
RESOLVED , that the National Student Nurses ” Association Board of Directors hereby recognize and honor Dr . Diane J . Mancino for her distinguished service on behalf of the NSNA , the students she has supported , the quality of nursing education at large , the entire nursing profession , and that the Board hereby grants her the title of Executive Director Emeritus ; and be it further
RESOLVED , that the Board of Directors express its gratitude and appreciation to Dr . Diane J . Mancino for her many accomplishments and contributions to the nursing profession and the NSNA , expressing best wishes for continued success and happiness in her retirement .
