Hello NSNA Members ! I am thrilled to be serving you on the Board of Directors for 2022-2023 . I am the chair of the Convention Planning Committee and a member of the Health Policy and Advocacy Committee , the Membership Committee , and the Council of State Presidents Planning Committee .
I am a non-traditional student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at the University of Nevada , Las Vegas ( UNLV ), graduating in 2023 . Also , I am a Student Representative for my cohort within the UNLV Student Nurses Association ( UNLVSNA ) and an active member of the Nevada Student Nurses Association ( NVNSA ). In my free time , you can find me volunteering with the UNLVSNA at one of their many community outreach events or spending time outdoors with my husband , two kids , and our yellow lab .
My goals this year are to facilitate and create an enriching and educational MidYear Conference and Annual Convention for all of you ! I hope to accomplish this goal by providing relevant speakers and programs and increasing communication with state and school chapters about MidYear Conference and Annual Convention .
NSNA , like many of the school and state chapters , has had to adapt to the new future that COVID created for us . I look forward to serving as a resource for all the state chapters to renew and revitalize their in-person or virtual conventions . I encourage you all to think about the State Convention Planning Award while you do so .
I was lucky to meet and speak with many of you at last year ’ s 70th NSNA Annual Convention in Salt Lake City , UT . I look forward to seeing you again and meeting new faces at the MidYear Conference in Virginia Beach , VA , and the 71st NSNA Annual Convention in Nashville , TN .
Until then , I encourage you to reach out to me via email with any questions , concerns , or suggestions . As always , I wish you all the best this upcoming fall and spring semester . I look forward to working with and for all of you ! n
