Greetings NSNA members ! It is an honor to serve as your Breakthrough to Nursing ( BTN ) Director for the 2022-2023 academic year . Before I dive in , here is a little bit about me . I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Widener University , PA , with a set graduation date of 2024 . I currently serve as President of Widener University Student Nurses ’ Association , and I am a sister of Sigma Delta Upsilon Chapter . Outside of school , I love to work out , go to the shore , and spend time with my friends and family .
This year is going to be memorable , and I hope you all are excited just like the rest of the Board and I are ! We have an amazing Board filled with strong , passionate , and hardworking individuals who are ecstatic to share their ideas and see them come to life . With that said , when I was talking to students at the 70th Annual Convention in Salt Lake City , UT , many came forth and told me they had no clue what Breakthrough to Nursing is and its purpose . Therefore , as your Breakthrough to Nursing ( BTN ) Director this year , I made it a strong goal of mine to educate and spread awareness of the importance of Breakthrough to Nursing and further dive into what it is . I also would love to be able to increase the number of school chapters that implement a Breakthrough to Nursing ( BTN ) chair on their schools ’ SNA executive board . Also , I hope you all apply and check out the monthly award themes for this year , I am super excited to see all the projects each and every one of you creates !

Greetings members ! It is an honor to serve on the 2022-23 NSNA Board as Director North and Membership Committee chair . Currently I am a junior at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis ( IUPUI ) in the nursing program pursuing my bachelor ’ s degree with a minor in healthcare administration and medical humanities . This summer I began courses to obtain my nutrition certification . At the Indiana University School of Nursing ( IUSON ) I also serve in a leadership role as one of the co-presidents of the local Student Nurse Association . My expected graduation is December 2023 .
Along with this position I serve as a member on the Image of Nursing Committee and Ethics and Governance Committee . I ’ m thrilled and optimistic about collaborating with you over the next year . As this year rolls out , we have planned goals to enhance your membership experience with NSNA and set a theme to match .
Our goal is always to ensure that your NSNA membership is as valuable and enriched as your overall encounter with the organization . As for this year ’ s theme , we wanted to focus on inclusion and ensure that all our members feel connected , and no one feels left out . In addition , we would like to increase student participation . Another goal we are aiming for is to enhance membership awareness of available resources . Finally , we will work more closely with states to maintain organizations and stay connected . This helps establish open , two-way lines of communication between members at the national , state , and local levels . As a serving organization we plan to assist state and local chapters with organizational goals , needs , and planning with aims in helping them to maintain and grow as a part of NSNA . This goal includes lending a helping hand to states or territories who do not have as many members by giving them recruitment tips and tricks to maintain constituency status .
Ultimately , we are all here to serve you . Our intent is to make sure everyone feels as though they belong with NSNA and can gain invaluable experiences . As we transition into an incredible career and fulfill our dream as nurses NSNA wants to be a part of the journey !
