NSNA Board Meeting Highlights The 2022-2023 NSNA Board of Directors met May 17-18 , 2022 in New York City . The following actions were taken :
• Approved minutes of April 4 and April 10 , 2022 Board of Directors Meeting and Emergency Meeting of the Executive Committee on May 9 , 2022 .
• Accepted reports from the following committees : Finance , Breakthrough to Nursing , Population and Global Health , Image of Nursing , Health Policy and Advocacy , Membership , and Convention Planning .
• Approved the appointment of the 2023 NSNA Resolutions Committee .
• Approved the appointment of the 2022-2023 Imprint reporters .
• Approved the appointment of Crystal Danette Nettles as NSNA Director North .
• Approved the theme for the 2022 MidYear Conference : “ Passion and Profession : The Whole Scope of Nursing .”
• Approved the theme for the 2023 Annual Convention : “ Reflection : A Catalyst for Change .”
NSNA Holds Summer Leadership U Summer Summit Virtually Over 200 student nurses and faculty attended NSNA ’ s Leadership U Summer Summit on July 28-29 , 2022 . The two-day virtual meeting provided school and state chapter members , faculty , and other student leaders information about NSNA governance and activities . Attendees participated in breakout sessions , icebreakers , and Q & As . Keynote speaker Ecoee Rooney , DNP , RN , AFN-C , NPD-BC , SANE-A , DF-AFN , Director of Nursing Leadership Development for Ochsner Health and the President of the Louisiana State Nurses Association , inspired us with her presentation on professional identity formation in nursing . NSNA President Taylor Conaway shared about her leadership journey with NSNA . A diverse panel of nurse leaders from Mount Sinai shared their expertise and leadership lessons in specialties such as medical-surgical , maternal child health , cardiology , and Pediatrics ICU . Mary Foley , PhD , RN , FAAN , ANA-appointed Consultant to NSNA , past president of the American Nurses Association and past president of NSNA , wrapped up the meeting on day two by guiding us towards the future of nursing . NSNA Leadership University Honor Society Inaugural Class of 2022 Recognized at the NSNA 70th Anniversary Convention The inaugural class of the
NSNA Leadership University Honor Society received recognition at the 70th Annual NSNA Convention . Over 300 NSNA members have qualified to join the Society which recognizes student leaders at the school , state and national level of NSNA .
