Hematology Nurse Involves treating patients with blood disorders and can include working in blood research , chemotherapy , blood transfusions , blood tests , and the patient education involved in all procedures .
• ASN / ADN or BSN
• Oncology Certification and Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology
• For Oncology Certification : one year as an RN within 3 years of application ; 1,000 hours of oncology nursing practice , within 2.5 years of application ; 10 accredited CNE contact hours in oncology . For Pediatric Hematology Oncology certification : 1 year as an RN within 3 years of application ; 1,000 hours of pediatric oncology or hematology nursing practice within 2.5 years of application ; 10 CNE contact hours in pediatric hematology or oncology

HIV / AIDS Care Nurse Involves caring for patients with HIV / AIDS , which includes treatment , medication management , and education about managing general health , safe sex , and the dangers of sharing needles . Requires knowledge of : basic pathogenesis of untreated / treated HIV infection ; the role of adherence in health outcomes ; basic antiretroviral medication regimens and dosing ; the need for MAC and PCP prophylaxis ; prevention methods ; pre-exposure prophylaxis , post-exposure prophylaxis , and non-occupational post-exposure prophylaxis ; community and clinical resources available to patients who have barriers to access care or medications .
