Here ’ s to the Heroes ! The NSNA 70th Anniversary Convention will be held in beautiful Salt Lake City , Utah .
What is up , NSNA ! I am Trever Voice , and I am the Nominating and Elections Committee ( NEC ) Northern Area Representative . It was great to meet some of you for the NSNA Virtual 39 th MidYear Conference in October 2021 . The great news is that we will see each other in person for this year ’ s Annual Convention in April .
The Annual Convention is back like the Terminator in the ’ 90s ! The NSNA 70th Annual Convention will be held in Salt Lake City , Utah , from April 6-10 , 2022 . This year ’ s convention theme is Here ’ s to the Hero ’ s . If you cannot join us in Salt Lake this year , NSNA will still be offering some events on a virtual platform . But sure to check out the brochure for which events will have a virtual option . It would behoove all NSNA members to visit ww . nsnaconvention . org and find all the information on keynote speakers , program schedule , NSNA Awards , exhibitors , student activities , and most importantly , the door prizes ( Free stuff YAY ).
Even more exciting is we will again vote and announce the 2022-2023 NSNA elected officers ! Now , if you are still interested in running for national office , it is not too late ! NEC is here to assist all candidates and provide them with all the necessary info to run for office at the convention successfully . Running from the floor is still an option ; please see the checklist below and feel free to reach out to your NEC representative .
One of the biggest excuses I hear is that people don ’ t have enough time . Well , humans will make time for something that they are committed to and enjoy . I will tell anyone who will listen that running for national office is one of the best choices you can make in nursing school . It is an experience that you can ’ t get anywhere else , you learn new communication and teamwork skills that you didn ’ t know you needed ! If you cut out your Tic Tok and IG time , you can do anything .
This year campaigning and running for NSNA office will be different ! We will be combining what worked on the virtual side and will bring back campaigning in person . So , there are multiple ways you can stand out to your voters ! As always , please feel free to reach out to the NEC for any questions .
