Hello NSNA Members ! My name is Megan Johnston and I am so excited to be serving as the 2021-2022 Imprint Editor ! Thank you for all your submissions and continued support . I am thrilled to be leading this magazine for you this year and cannot wait to see how we continue to grow throughout this academic year .

I hope that everyone ’ s start to the new school year has been exciting and fun .
Personally , some of my courses returned in-person , while others remained online , as we still try to make our way through this pandemic . That is why this issue of Imprint had a name change from “ Bye Bye Zoom , Back to the Classroom ,” to its final title of “ Back to Zoom and the Classroom ,” as so many of us expected to leave Zoom behind and return back to campus . I realize that these uncertain times can be frustrating , but remember we have done it before and will continue to thrive and be better nurses because of it . Being there for each other through this difficult middle ground in the pandemic is so important . Read page 39 to learn how to implement mentor programs into your chapter , as well as page 4 which explores how the pandemic affects our future nurses .
Also , many of us are new to nursing school this year and trying to navigate such a rigorous major during such confusing times can make the task seem daunting . To help with some of this discomfort , please read page 28 which contains incredible study tips from several NSNA members across the country .
Many people may find it difficult to get leadership experience or get involved in their local , state , or national Student Nurses Association ( SNA ) due to lack of in-person meetings to guide you through the process . However , we have several authors who have written about their experience to help you navigate this difficult terrain . On page 43 , you can find out how to write resolutions on the local , state , and national levels and innovate your own ideas into policy . Also , SNAs have found out incredible ways to promote and maintain leadership positions despite the mostly online format . Read page 34 to hear Carol Toussie Weingarten and Caitlin Gomes ’ success strategies of using the framework nursing process to maintain leadership .
Lastly , self-care is so important and something so many nurses preach to their patients , but do not practice for themselves . I challenge all of you to take care of yourself and take time out of your day to find what makes you happy . Read page 30 for great tips on time and stress management while in nursing school and how valuable our time really is .
I truly hope you enjoy this issue . Please feel free to send in your feedback and stay tuned for the rest of the upcoming issues . Remember that Imprint has officially transitioned to fully digital so all our issues can be found online , making Imprint accessible to many . Also , coming up is the NSNA Virtual 39th MidYear Conference — Becoming a Hero — November 11-13 , 2021 . We hope you can join us for this exciting event . Register now at www . nsnamidyear . org .
See you in the next issue and remember to take a deep breath , relax , and go into this school year with a smile .
