Stress Management Tips Anytime you start something new , it is stressful . At times , it will seem like the information is coming at you at break-neck speed ; the increasing responsibilities will also take a toll . So , what can you do ?
1 . Watch out for signs of stress , such as headaches , sleep pattern changes , irritability , muscle tension , and inability to concentrate .
2 . Recognize that your immune system is at risk , so cold virus and other ailments will be more prevalent . Therefore , get adequate rest and eat healthily .
3 . Avoid making too many life changes at this time . For example , don ’ t start a new job ; try to avoid any radical lifestyle changes .
4 . Avoid negative people . They will erode your emotional reserves . Avoid time with people who dump emotional garbage into your life .
5 . Remember to factor in the people you care about and make your spirit whole , such as family and friends . They can often encourage you to help you meet your goals .
6 . Talking with others help reduce stress but avoid long gripe sessions . Be solution oriented .
7 . Don ’ t forget that your faculty have gone through what you are experiencing , so ask them for help and support .
8 . Don ’ t forget about things that relax you or make you laugh . Remember that laughter produces surges of endorphins , stimulates the cardiovascular systems , enhances respiratory expansion , improves the availability of tissue oxygenation , relaxes muscles , and creates a momentary vacation .
9 . Connect with nature . Try a walk outside and enjoy the beauty around you . This relaxation decreases stress and helps to improve cognitive functioning . Think about doing this before an exam .
Conclusion : Success in Your Metamorphosis Can you do things to promote success ? You sure can ! Consider how you can stay motivated and manage time and stress . What you learn and practice along the way will help not only you but those you love and those your healing hands will touch . Be gentle with yourself as you participate in this metamorphosis . The struggles , like those which the butterfly encounters as it emerges from the cocoon , will strengthen you and help you achieve success . •
