Patel
Kreena C . Patel Eastern Election Area Representative Salisbury University Salisbury , MD neceast @ nsnainc . org
Hello ! I am Kreena Patel , the Nominating and Election Committee eastern election area representative . I am excited to help the NEC find new NSNA leaders to carry our organization forward . My peers can attest to the fact that our journey has just begun . I invite everyone to reach out to me and seek friendship , advice or support from one another ! My hope for this position and this following year is for everyone to have a wonderful semester and encourage the spread of laughter , ideas , and passions amongst NSNA members and all nursing students !
I have about two months left in my nursing program at Salisbury University in Salisbury , MD . I live in this town with my parents , Chirag & Sweta , who immigrated from India . I also have a younger brother Darsh . My grandma , Pushpa , the love of my life , lives with us as she has since I was a baby ! My grandfather passed of lymphoma in March of 2020 . Around this time , I think I knew I wanted to be an oncology nurse . However , I didn ’ t want to admit it because cancer is a deeply sad word and an even worse death . With those thoughts in my heart , I am excited to work with oncology patients and get a step closer to achieving the goal I set for myself when I applied to nursing school : to make people smile , even for a brief moment , to enhance their lives , and to lighten their pain , frustration , or sadness by providing comfort .
In lighter news , I love learning languages ( brushing up on my Korean and Hindi ), make / buy candles , and may have an addiction to adding color to every aspect of my room . My favorite part of the day is getting out of my own head and talking to interesting strangers ! Who knows how they may change your life !
Greetings from the 2021-2022 Imprint Reporters !

Bock
Victoria Bock Up Close Reporter Villanova University Villanova , PA nsna @ nsna . org , Attn : Up Close
Hello future nurses ! It is an honor to be your Up Close Reporter for NSNA ’ s Imprint ! I am a senior at Villanova University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in the M . Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing . I currently serve as the Membership and Publicity Chairwoman for Villanova University ’ s Chapter of the NSNA and the Student Nurses ’ Association of Pennsylvania ( SNAP ) and have held this position since 2019 .
My inspiration for going into the nursing field began at a young age . After having many healthcare and hospital encounters from my childhood to young adulthood , I was quick to realize that the nurses became my backbone ; they became the strength I needed when I felt I had none . Combining my love for nursing with my passion for service , the path of becoming a nurse felt natural to me .
Nursing school is a challenge , and on top of that there are so many nursing students going above and beyond outside of the classroom and clinical setting . My goal is to spotlight those outstanding individuals and to recognize the incredible work they are striving to accomplish . If you would like to nominate an NSNA member to be featured in an Up Close article in Imprint , please email me , I look forward to hearing from you !
