Conclusions Many rural children and adults are not getting the treatment that would help them live more mentally and physically healthy lives . As a result , health disparities in rural areas do exist and have led to the shortening of life for children and adults . Without further advocacy , research , and funding , the health of rural people may not get better . We all need to do our part so that underserved children like Amber can get the care needed in order to live healthier and happier lives . n
