Caring for All Discriminating against patients of different racial or cultural backgrounds is against the law , but often it happens in healthcare settings , either intentionally or through lack of knowledge . Ensure all patients receive the care they deserve by being knowledgeable about their needs , treating them with respect , and advocating that others treat them with respect as well . Doing so improves care and promotes ethical behavior .
Ultimately , nurses must take action to create meaningful change . n
