opportunities. Even when there isn’ t a festival on the calendar, the Farm Stand is a destination on its own, with an on-site restaurant serving Mexican cuisine and handmade tortillas, a market stocked with jams, jellies, hot sauces and seasonal produce, and crave-worthy milkshakes.
Cooler days call for chili and every year the Rotary Club of Branford brings the community together for its annual chili cook-off at the Greenway. In addition to plenty of chili samples, local vendors offer handcrafted goods and treats. The fifth annual festival is set for Nov. 7, with larger-than-ever prizes on the line for the winning dish.
The Rotary Club also helps organize the annual Branford Christmas Festival and half-mile Community Jingle Jog & Walk, with proceeds supporting classroom libraries for Branford Elementary School students. The evening features entertainment, vendors, food and a holiday parade.
Whether it’ s sipping a cold blueberry milkshake in the summer or warming up with a cup of chili in the fall, Branford knows how to celebrate. Year after year, local organizations and volunteers bring residents together with events that showcase the town’ s community spirit— and give visitors plenty of reasons to return.
