Of course , the increase in vendor participation isn ’ t the only highlight of the evening as live music by Nashville recording artist Faith Jackson lights up the main stage at 6:30 p . m . after the completion of a cash-prize cornhole tournament and winners of the watermelon eating and seed-spitting contest are announced . Bounce houses , train rides for the kids and the traditional Bedrock Derby round out the lineup as the day culminates in the fan-favorite parade down Suwannee Avenue and an unforgettable firework display at Hatch Park to bring the night to a colorful close .
For over four decades , the town of Branford has represented its patriotism with a day full of entertainment , food , games , activities , one-of-a-kind fundraisers and plenty of fireworks with the mission of making each year ’ s celebration bigger and better than ever .
“ We ’ re looking to make this festival an event that everybody looks forward to coming to each year ,” said Stacey Griffith , who was on the committee for this year ’ s Independence Day festival .
