PENNIES FOR PEACE (P4P) P4P REBUILDS DASHT SCHOOL When a devastating earthquake struck Tajikistan’s remote Rushan District in 2015, the already crumbling Dasht School couldn’t withstand the devastation. With the collapse of the Soviet-Era schoolhouse, 60 students were left without a safe place to learn. P4P supporters came to the rescue! Penny by penny, 81 schools joined community groups and individuals to raise more than $40,000 to rebuild. Today, dozens of students are studying in warm, modern classrooms thanks to generous donors like you. 765 people joined P4P and shared CAI’s mission of cultural and philanthropic education with their communities. 431 Roughly U.S. classrooms used the P4P curriculum to teach the importance of generosity, philanthropy, and the power of education. 38 international schools used our curriculum in their classroom. 4,526,565 pennies were raised for school buildings and school supplies in Central Asia thanks to generous teachers, students, parents, churches, and organizations. “I’m from Pakistan and I know that there are places where kids don’t get to go to school, especially girls, but we all need to go to school… Everyone needs to learn humanity. I mean one single penny can change someone’s life. I’m proud that we all participated with even a penny each.” - Aanish, 5th grader, Ritchie Park Elementary School
