PENNIES FOR PEACE (P4P)
P4P REBUILDS
DASHT SCHOOL
When a devastating earthquake
struck Tajikistan’s remote Rushan
District in 2015, the already
crumbling Dasht School couldn’t
withstand the devastation. With
the collapse of the Soviet-Era
schoolhouse, 60 students were left
without a safe place to learn.
P4P supporters came to the
rescue! Penny by penny, 81 schools
joined community groups and
individuals to raise more than
$40,000 to rebuild. Today, dozens
of students are studying in warm,
modern classrooms thanks to
generous donors like you.

“I’m from Pakistan and I know that there are places where kids don’t get to go to school, especially girls, but we all need
to go to school… Everyone needs to learn humanity. I mean one single penny can change someone’s life. I’m proud that
we all participated with even a penny each.”
