One Light,
Many Colors
Fr. Dr. Anthony D’Souza has taught
as a distinguished Haggai Institute
faculty member for more than 30
years.
He has also served as a consultant
to three former popes. Each fall, Fr.
D’Souza directed the orientation of
the new Catholic bishops in Rome.
In the late 1970s, he served as a
Vatican liaison to the World Council
of Churches. After attending Haggai
Institute, he told the Pope he
wanted to resign his membership
in the WCC. He did not share their
goal of trying to resolve the many
differences among denominations.
He said, “Haggai Institute focuses
on the one thing we all have in
common, Jesus Christ, and His love
for all – regardless of denomination,
race, or culture.”
One Light, many colors!
Do you remember singing this song
in Sunday school?
Jesus loves the little children,
all the children of the world.
Red, brown, yellow, black,
and white,
they are precious in
His sight.
Jesus loves the little children of
the world.
And that’s what you’ll see at Haggai
Institute – red, brown, yellow, black,
and white – God’s children from 186
nations of the world!
Not only will you see the world’s
different races and cultures, but
also a myriad of professions that
cover the spectrum of marketplace
businesses, churches, ministries,
and non-profit organizations.
The alumni featured in this edition
of IMPACT represent only a few of
the varied professions of the leaders
H.I. trains.
At H.I. training, the “Light of the
World,” Jesus, flows into each
participant, igniting a passionate
fire to share the love of Christ with
their “world.” The beauty is this: as
they are infused with His light, like
sunbeams passing through a prism,
the Holy Spirit transforms His light
through them into many different
colors and hues. No one color is
exactly the same as another.
heart-to-heart with our alumni, to
hear about how they are sharing the
Gospel around the globe.
Please join us for this important
celebration – the 45th anniversary
of Haggai Institute and Dr. Haggai’s
90th birthday. Come see what God
has done and is doing through
these global leaders!

These different “colors” are
represented in the alumni’s unique
gifts, skills, professional platforms,
and personal passions, as well as
in God’s unique calling on each of
their lives. The stories in this issue
reflect this principle. Who would
ever think of using Star Wars as a
means to evangelize?!
