NO COMPETITION! something “different” in me. On May 22, 2013, Mxit India CEO (and Haggai Institute faculty member) Sam Rufus Nallaraj joined the cast of the international TV show THE APPRENTICE ASIA. He’d been selected to represent India, ahead of 30,000 eligible young businesspeople. During nine grueling business rounds, against 11 other contestants, he reached the semifinals in a show that aired to a total population of around two billion. What did he think he was doing? How could you witness and still compete in a “cutthroat” competition? I learned at Haggai Institute that I would NEVER compete with others but would compete ONLY with myself. The Apprentice Asia producers were flabbergasted when I told them this was my strategy to win! But in the long run, it worked out well. For you, was this a form of evangelism? Yes, 101%. I wanted to show the world that if you have faith in Christ, He will make you the head and not the tail. Especially in a country like India, where Christians are the minority, I wanted to be a role model and example, showing that through Christ, you can achieve far more than you ask or think. What did the other contestants think of you? They started calling me “the priest” of The Apprentice Asia. Some even asked me to pray for them before the boardroom firing meetings! “secrets of success,” which are nothing but living a life pleasing to Him and doing His will! Now that the show is over, what are your plans? To do His will for my future, my family, and my career. I want to write a book to inspire millions of young working professionals. God delights in the prosperity of His children. I want to help others get to where I am and share the What feedback have you received from TV audiences? Through my Facebook page and e-mails, I know I’ve impacted people all over India, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and even China. People keep telling me that they saw Sam Rufus Nallaraj 5
