JOSE LUIS
MAGALLANES
targeting The people who know ABOUT JESUS BUT HAVE NEVER MET HIM
Jose Luis Magallanes exemplifies
the quality of the faculty running
Haggai Institute’s national
training programs.
An industrial engineer by
training, he also holds a master’s
degree in economic development
and an M.B.A. For 25 years, he
held key positions in Fortune 500
companies.
In 1995, intrigued by what he’d
heard about Haggai Institute, he
asked his employer for permission
to attend. When his request was
turned down, he decided to quit
in order to attend the training.
It wasn’t just the curriculum that
14
impressed him; it was the people.
He says, “The faculty impacted
my life very strongly. I learned so
much from their own personal
experiences serving the Lord. I
truly wanted something they had
– this willingness to leave behind
in order to become full servants of
the Lord.”
On his return to Mexico, he
asked what he could do to
further Haggai Institute’s work
there. Eventually he trained as a
national faculty member, teaching
“Biblical Mandate” and “Goal
Setting.” Later Haggai Institute
invited him to become a national
representative.
He believes that Haggai Institute
donors have made a huge impact
in Mexico – a country that
contains extremes of poverty and
wealth.
“We have four local Haggai
Institute chapters in Mexico. My
vision is to develop nine local
chapters, from north to south, as
well as the national association.
Through Haggai Institute
alumni, we’re going to target the
leadership of key areas of the
country, the people who know
about Jesus but have never met
Him.”
