CLASS PROCEDURES

CLASS PROCEDURES FOCUS ON SAFETY
To provide current vocational programs and continuity of instruction , the Georgia Department of Corrections ( GDC ) and the Technical College System of Georgia ( TCSG ) have partnered together to implement new protocols that would best benefit students . Although programming is most beneficial in a face-to-face and handson manner , the new protocols allow offenders to remain healthy and safe while receiving instruction .
For students and staff to continue educational programming , educators limit in-class instruction by creating videos and educational packets to study independently . Before entering the classroom , all students must wash their hands . While class is in session , all students and staff must wear a mask , remain six feet or 36 cubic feet apart , sanitize seating areas before leaving the classroom and sanitize all books and laptops after use .
These new procedures follow the Governor ’ s recommendation and are benefiting the GDCs ’ safety as a whole .
