The Georgia Department of Corrections ( GDC ) offers a Peer Support Team ( PST ) for employees . This team is made up of experienced GDC staff who are able to act as a supportive role for their co-workers . Members of the team are available to provide small group and individual support to employees coping with difficult situations . With team members spread throughout the state , they are available quickly to support any staff in need . The services they provide are at no cost to the employee or agency and are available at any time .
PST members are held to a high standard of understanding and confidentiality while volunteering their time to be a listening ear for other employees . The PST is available 24 hours , seven days a week , 365 days of the year , all across the state .
