Metro Reentry

Cyber Café Opens

Metro Reentry Facility (RF) has embraced Commissioner Ward’s top priority of putting staff first, by creating the Metro Cyber Café for staff and officers. Designed as a way to help infuse wellness into their workday, the café is open twenty-four hours a day and provides staff a quiet area to take breaks, technology resources for staff working to complete their education, and in the near future will provide staff an opportunity to purchase food from staff dining.

“The Metro Reentry Cyber Café provides our hardworking, dedicated staff an opportunity to relax and unwind during their shift,” said Commissioner Timothy C. Ward.  “This is the first of its kind in a GDC facility and I am excited to see staff wellbeing at the forefront.”

Metro RF utilizes evidence-based practices and community collaboration to address all barriers for returning citizens who will be released into the Metro Atlanta counties of Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Fulton and Gwinnett.  The staff at Metro RF work in unison provide opportunities for returning citizens to participate simultaneously in academic and vocational education programs, personal development, extracurricular activities, and community service; in addition to counseling, cognitive, and substance abuse programming.

The staff at Metro RF work diligently each day to embrace the GDC’s mission of protecting the public by operating safe and secure facilities through the development of professional staff and effective offender management.
