THE INCOMPARABLE MRS. KIM SIMS
I got a call one evening
That left me disbelieving
That the existing principal was assisted from the building
And a new one in place excelled my faith with healing
I scuttled in to meet you and was welcomed with loving concern
You listened to those hurt feelings and assured me that years past were forever spurned
My senior daughter was in summer-school with a teacher I felt was a bit abusive
You not only took note, but also steps to ensure that my complaints were not exclusive
With great anticipation I listened to your mission
The generousness of your delivery left me without suspicion
With great emotion I tearfully thanked God that our children would finally receive the education that they deserved
You then gave confirmation that from your proposed intent you would never swerve
You saw something in me requesting that after my child’s graduation that I continue volunteering
I kept that promise and daily assisted in both the Main and the Modular Buildings
Oh, the potential you must have seen that caused you to deeply delve as you found a place for me
Within those campus walls felt extremely blessed and honored becoming a part of Bouchet’s destiny
With wisdom and fore-thought you brought in your selected team
You collectively cleaned up the campus, instituted all-inclusive programming that became much more than a mere dream
Those initial naysayers soon became believers and even great fans of yours
As we continued to watch, in disbelief, you knocked down old while opening up new doors
With staggering academic results, Bouchet eventually moved from list - PROBATION
The continued excellence you bring to our campus is deserving of absolute adoration
Your proficiency as a leader is, without doubt, unmatched as compared to your three predecessors
With your educational prowess we must recognize that you are one of CPS’s most prized treasures
But, as you so well manifest consistency in your everyday operations it’s clear
That your commitment to children, parents, family and the community continues to be sincere
Mrs. Sims, I can’t thank you enough
You brought me back at a time when things have been really, really tough
Thank you for showing great consideration, kindness and love for my child and me
Without your tender mercies, I’m not so sure just where I’d be
Please keep in mind that if your future holds a place in it for me, I will surely acquiesce.
You can forever rest assured that I will concede with a whopping, great big “YES”
For each and everything you do
I will always and forever truly love you,
