It is my pleasure to join the board of
Lyford Cay International School (LCIS)
this year and chair the Development
Committee.
The
Development
Committee supports the school in its
raising of about $1M per year above
tuition to enhance the experiences at the
school. I have always been passionate
about the school and been so grateful
that so many parents and community
members before me made contributions
that created the incredible opportunities
that my children experience today. I am
excited to serve in this capacity this year
and want to share a little bit about why
my family keeps LCIS at the top of our
list for philanthropic giving.
LCIS is a not for profit which is a simple
but important concept to understand
in the context of daily schooling. Its
administration
and
board
makes
decisions based solely on what is best
for students, spending every dollar of
tuition and donations on our children.
The school does not need to think about
making money for an owner. It does not
have a single benefactor. This is a school
by the community, for the community
and years of dedicated parents,
community members and corporations
have created the opportunities our
students have today.
