As a non-profit organisation , the growth and development of LCIS over the years has been driven by the generous support of the community and its contributions to the Annual Fund raising over $ 18 million dollars since its inception in 2007 . This strong history of giving has allowed LCIS to make a truly lasting impact on all of the students who have passed through our doors . Your contributions through the years help to secure vibrant experiences for those here now and those yet to come .
The Annual Fund is a forward fund . Funds raised in the current year are used for strategic enhancements throughout the following fiscal and school year so that LCIS can continue to provide the finest educational opportunities in the region . It does not fill holes in the operational budget . The lights are not on because of it and staff salaries are not paid with it .
Our tuition fees cover our personnel costs and expenses for educational materials , ongoing professional development , maintenance of our facilities , utilities , security , cleaning and other routine spending .
Annual Funds enable good schools to be great . The Annual Fund enables LCIS to remain at the edge of innovation and to continue to enhance the student learning experience while providing opportunities for those who could not otherwise afford to attend . With over $ 300,000 annually awarded to Bahamian students , donations to the Annual Fund provide a life-changing education at our world-class school ; and , because of the education they receive at LCIS , our scholarship students have gone on to earn over $ 6.8M in scholarships at universities around the world . This proves that an LCIS student is worth investing in . Indeed , 48 % of alumni have already returned The Bahamas to become productive members of our growing nation .
