Lyford Cay International School ( LCIS ) is a nonprofit , international day school , founded in 1962 and located in New Providence , The Bahamas . LCIS is one of only 41 schools worldwide to offer all four programmes of the prestigious International Baccalaureate ( IB ) Organisation : the Primary Years Programme ( PYP ), the Middle Years Programme ( MYP ), the Diploma Programme ( DP ) and the Career-Related Programme ( CP ). In addition , the school also has an Early Learning Centre ( ELC ) for children as young as 18 months old .
The school is accredited by the Council of International Schools ( CIS ) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges ( NEASC ) and holds a Green Flag from the Eco-Schools Programme .
LCIS operates the Lyford Cay School Foundation , a 501 ( c ) 3 entity for donors with tax liability in the United States of America , and The Canadian Friends of Lyford Cay International School , a registered charity with the Canadian Revenue Authority .
