Supporting the Development of The Bahamas
At LCIS, we celebrate the strength and diversity of our community. Our strong Financial Aid & Scholarships programme
ensures that those Bahamian students who would otherwise not be able to attend LCIS can receive a world-class International
Baccalaureate (IB) education. Our donors play a fundamental role in our efforts to positively impact the Bahamian community.
Since 2008, LCIS has awarded over $2.5M in financial aid and scholarships. As we embark on a new era in our school’s history
with the opening of a new Upper School campus, LCIS will expand this pivotal programme to support more students.
Additional Named Scholarships
Stavros Niarchos Foundation Scholarship
First granted in 2019, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Award is a gateway
scholarship to make it possible for a younger child to attend LCIS. The Foundation’s
gift to the endowment builds diversity through the grades and provides a strong
foundation for the ongoing scholarship programme. Jamiya Kemp (Grade 5) is
the first Stavros Niarchos Foundation Scholar.
Connery Family Scholarship
First granted in 2017 to Grand Bahamian, Shanarj Johnson (Grade 10), the
Connery Family gifted a multi-year high school scholarship to honour their
daughters’ time at the school and make an LCIS education available to even
more local students.

Your gifts to the Annual Fund are critical to ensure the school is able to continue to support Bahamian students year after
year. Further, gifts to the Endowment for Scholarships and Financial Aid allow donors to make an impact not only today but in
perpetuity.
Since Melania started LCIS, there has never been a quiet ride home. Every day,
there is an exciting story to share. She has truly embraced the endless opportunities
available to her. She wants to participate in everything, such as the Media Club and
Design elective. The classes offered at LCIS afford students the opportunity to stretch
their thinking and go above and beyond just finding the answer for any particular
question. Melania has a new enthusiasm about her future and talks about her college
of choice with a new fire in her eyes.
