IMPACT: Annual Report 2017-2018 | Page 8

Schools are always dynamic places that evolve and change, as do the times, programmes and people involved with them. As an international school, we often welcome new people into our community and also say goodbye to others with whom we have lived and worked for many years. At the end of this school year, we will sadly say goodbye to Dr Bobo, who will step down from her role as Principal. There will be opportunities later in the year to acknowledge more fully the impressive achievements and contributions of Dr Bobo during her decade at the school. For now, the Board of Directors and Governors would like to express their profound appreciation of her work ethic and loyal commitment to LCIS. We have been very happy to collaborate with Dr Bobo during a period of successful growth of the school. The Board of Directors has already embarked upon the process of recruiting the next leader for our school. As we move forward and build on the hard work and legacy of Dr Bobo, we will continue our efforts to serve our families at the highest level and reach new heights. Looking back over the past five years of our most recent strategic plan, we have leveraged our strengths to ensure that our students have access to exceptional educational opportunities. We have enhanced facilities on our current campus while creating plans to construct a new Upper School with facilities that will provide even more inspirational spaces for teaching and learning. We have maintained seven international accreditations that underscore the daily commitment of staff to provide a culture and environment in which students can thrive. We are now one out of only 100 schools worldwide that offer all four programmes of the International Baccalaureate Programme, distinguishing us as a leader in education and, more importantly, serving our students with well-rounded and diverse pathways to graduation. The new school leader, along with the education and strategic planning committees, will set out the next plan for LCIS’s evolution. In the interim, we will continue to focus on implementing our current strategic and academic plans for the year, assessing our progress and refining our approach in our efforts to make sure we are providing the best quality education on the island. On behalf of the Board of Directors and Governors, we would like to thank everyone for their incredible support of LCIS over the years. Your support is key in our school’s ability to achieve so much, including our strategic vision and master plan. Our goals for our children and our school are ambitious, but achievable, because of our collective intent to give our students and our community the best opportunities for continuous growth and development. 7
