Reflecting on 10 Years at LCIS
Dear LCIS Community,
After 10 wonderful years as principal of Lyford Cay International School, this will be my last year at the
helm of our great community school. I have truly enjoyed leading the school in its evolution as a premier
educational institution. Reflecting on the past decade, I realised how far we have come in building a
solid foundation that prepares our students for the challenges that lie ahead, in their personal lives and
in the world.
I am so very grateful to all of you for your support of our students and our mission to become the best
school in the Caribbean. On a daily basis, I reflect on the dedication of our parents, neighbours and
community. Thanks to all this support, our school has evolved physically and programmatically. More
importantly, this support has enhanced the experiences of our students and led to their well-being and
growth as individuals. I am so grateful for the time, talent, donations and partnership that have helped
us transform as a school. We are very lucky to have a community that is so committed to our young
people and their development.
I would like to thank the Board of Directors and Governors for their enthusiasm and tireless effort to
support the school and its mission. I particularly want to recognise the work of my leadership team
who has given me consistent and compassionate support. Their dedication to teaching and learning is
unwavering, and I am proud of and grateful for all they have done.
At the heart of Lyford Cay are our teachers. They are knowledgeable, compassionate, enthusiastic
individuals. The teachers are committed to developing our students into caring, critical thinkers who
are lifelong learners. It has been a privilege and honor to work with the many teachers over the past
decade.
The search for new head of school is well underway and during the remainder of this school year, we
will continue to move forward with the same energy and commitment to growth that has characterised
the last ten years. We have many exciting projects on the immediate horizon for LCIS including the
implementation of the IB Career-related Programme, the showcasing of students’ talents in the musical
Annie, cheering on the number one boys soccer team in the country and the commencement of
construction for our new Upper School Campus.
Thank you for your commitment, challenges and the inspiration over the last decade. Being a part of
this community and being your principal has been a great honor and a rewarding experience.
Kind regards,
Dr. Stacey Bobo
