Buster makes a friend
“ please excuse me, I am escaping from my compound.”
The ducks huffed and puffed and waggled their tails in a most disgruntled manner. Soon they quietened down, stuck their heads under their wings and went back to sleep.
“ That was fun,” chuckled Buster, as he climbed out of the pond.
Patrick jumped down from the tree and onto Buster’ s back. Together they set off down a track. The moon went in behind some clouds and it was very dark again. But Patrick was a nocturnal animal and could see in the dark so he was able to guide Buster.
But he did not see a strange animal with a very long nose crouching in the ground.
“ Ouch! Watch where you are going you clumsy bear,” cried the strange creature. Buster had walked straight into him.
“ Oh, sorry,” said Buster,“ who are you?”
“ I am a pangolin,” replied the creature.“ I was eating my breakfast of juicy ants when you barged in.”
“ Oh dear,” said Buster,“ where’ s your breakfast?”
“ I am a Pangolin”
“ Under your big foot, you silly bear. You are standing on an ants’ nest.”
“ Ouch!” cried Buster as several big black ants crawled onto his foot and bit him.
“ Ouch, ouch, ouch,” he cried as several more black ants bit him.
