Buster makes a friend

as he crashed to the ground.

“ Phew! That was close,” he said,“ we’ re safe now.”
He should not have spoken so soon. Just at that moment the branch broke and Buster came tumbling down. Patrick flew off his back and ran up to the top of the tree.
“ Here comes trouble,” cried Buster
A tiger was just about to spring on him when Buster jumped into the river and swam to an island in the middle. The river was running very fast because there had been a lot of rain that day but Buster was a strong swimmer.
Tigers are good swimmers but the river was fast. They were not hungry because the rangers had fed them the previous evening so they didn’ t go in after Buster. However, they were angry at being disturbed and walked up and down the riverbank growling with their tails swishing from side to side.
Patrick was on the tree above them.“ What a mess,” he said.“ Buster is trapped on that island and who knows when the tigers will decide to swim to the island and try to catch him and eat him. It’ s my fault. I have to save Buster.”
Patrick jumped down onto one of the tigers and dug his sharp vicious little claws into its back. The tiger gave a great roar and tried to roll on top of Patrick but he was too quick and fled back up
