performances by Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp.
In this version, Alice (Mia Wasikowska) is a young girl coveted by many boys of the English elite and, during a party, she runs away following the White Rabbit to Wonderland. The girl has been there before, when she was 7 years, but now she returned and found Wonderland in conflict: the Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) took power and the White Queen (Anne Hathaway) decides to put an end to her dictatorial government. The only one who can finish this is Alice, who needs to prove to be "the real Alice" and kill Jabberwocky, the Red Queen’s dragon. On her journey, Alice still finds the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp), the twins Tweedledee and Tweedledum and the Cheshire Cat.
It is a spectacle in every scene. The colors, lights, scenes, all there was thought and created to complement the story in its minimum details. Burton, concerned about the movie's aesthetics, don't let anything passing in vain.
The darlings of Tim, Bonham Carter and Depp, shine once again bringing life to weird and crazy characters (especially Helena, the Queen of Hearts fit her like a glove).
Although some say that the story was bad (what a bulls**t!),it was not to be expected that Burton, a innovative, keep the identical story of Carroll. The eccentric director needs his own space into his movie, a way to say "hello" to the public that prestige him, a signature perhaps.
This new Alice in Wonderland is - with no doubts - a amazing trip to Tim Burton’s imagination world.
