The goal of art is to inspire, to transform.
Art means awakening. It can record, bear
witness. It can shock. It can shout, it can sing,
chant or dance, speak in the tongues of angels–
or devils. It often mocks–in glaring or mundane
images–our greeds, our consumerism, our denial of
values, our ignorance, but it can also soothe and
bring peace. It can heal and open doorways to
the spiritual, to a world of beauty, a love of each
other and of all living, moving creatures and
energies, for the poetry of life.
