STROKE SURVEY SUCCESS
For JHMI, behind every event we do for physicians or the community, there is a staple on our team that organizes our events. La Tonya Payne for the past four years has been the staple on our Practice Development Team to ensure our events go off without a glitch. Aside from organizing our events, La Tonya is a real Johns Hopkins success story. La Tonya joined our team as a temporary employee and earned a full-time position. After being hired full-time, La Tonya continued to grow professionally and earned the opportunity to attend Future Leaders. She completed the Future Leaders program in June 2017, and as her responsibilities continue to grow, her consistency has not wavered. Thank you for all you do!!!

On September 18-19, our hospital underwent a recertification survey for our Comprehensive Stroke Center status. In preparation for this survey, the nursing staff for Interventional Radiology worked diligently to ensure everything was ready. Beth K., Abbey L., Cherry M., and Aneatra S., along with their supervisors Wowie P., Susie, D., and manager Kris T., participated in meetings and mock surveys to provide for as smooth a survey as possible. They also prepared the others with posters and bulletin boards, and review sessions on how the survey process works. And it Paid off.
Our department is proud of all the efforts our nurses made to allow the survey to go as well as it did. At the conclusion of our two day survey, the Joint Commission surveyors reported that they saw evidence of stellar care, and found our program to be excellent. They found the staff dedicated, very experienced and knowledgeable. One of the surveyors had been here for our 2013 certification and commented on the growth she had observed in our program.
