interventional radiology
I would like to recognize one of the technologists in Interventional Radiology for going above and beyond to help facilitate a procedure for a patient.
Daniel Hill whom is a registered Interventional Radiology & CT technologist was awaiting a patient for a 3pm 320 CT scan. This is a highly specialized Cat Scan of the Neuro Vascular system. The patient was scheduled for the 320 Scan on the 5th floor of Zayed. This patient is blind and relies heavily on family to get around. Prior to this procedure the patient was to have another procedure in Weinberg. The patient had this procedure performed and went to recovery on the fourth floor of Zayed. While on the 4th floor of Zayed, Dan communicated with the recovery room nurses and advised them that the patient needed an IV and lab work. The patient was to recover then report to the 5th floor registration area for the 320 CT Scan. Dan received a phone call that the patient was sent to the wrong area on the 5th floor. He immediate set out to locate the patient and walk her through the entire registration, IV placement and blood draw process. Although it was nearing the end of Dan’s shift, he volunteered to stay and perform the patients’ procedure to the end. I would like to thank Dan for his dedication to the patient and his department. He put the patient and her needs before his own. Dan stayed two hours past his scheduled time and as a result the patient was able to have her procedure completed. I would like to commend Dan for his exceptional excellence in patient care.
