SafeAI Autonomous Framework recognised for safety integrity
SafeAI , a relatively new global leader in autonomous solutions for heavy equipment , has announced what it says is a significant achievement for its SafeAI Autonomous Framework ( SAF ), which it also states is “ the first operating system purpose-built for heavy industry .” SAF has been awarded the ASIL D certification , the highest safety integrity level in the industry .

ABD Solutions launches Mobile Supervisory System
UK-based ABD Solutions , a leader in vehicle autonomy solutions , has just launched a Mobile Supervisory System ( MSS ). The MSS acts as the control centre for Indigo Drive , its full stack self-driving system for use with existing vehicles . The system enables a limitless number of

It can be installed in various vehicles or mobile containers and is designed to operate in extreme environments . The components are IP67 rated to prevent the ingress of dust and moisture making them highly ruggedised and spray washable .
The first implementation has been installed in a van configuration , with two operator stations and all the servers that a site needs to manage its fleet of automated vehicles . “ With fully redundant , high-availability architecture , single points of failure are removed , providing reliability and continuous operation . The level of redundancy is scalable as required .”
The van is being used to showcase the technology to prospective customers at their facilities or at ABD Solutions ’ test track in the UK and it says the mining industry has already expressed significant interest in the additional flexibility provided by the mobile system . It is powered by hotswappable lithium-ion battery packs , that provide 24 hours of operating life , and can be recharged using solar power or hydrogen generators .
Indigo Drive is IEC61508 : 2010 and ISO17757 : 2019 certified and includes a user-friendly software interface for route-planning , the hardware to move the vehicles ( such as drive-by-wire and driving robots ), communication ( radio , V2X , GPS / GNSS ), obstacle detection ( LiDAR , camera , radar ) and vehicle health and diagnostics ( OBD2 , telemetry , sensors ). “ As it ’ s completely modular , it can be tailored around the specific vehicles and environments . This means ABD Solutions can support their customers transition to autonomous operations quickly , and more cost-effectively than replacing their fleet with new autonomous vehicles .”
