The partnership will incorporate smart technologies , including automation , real-time monitoring , data analysis , and artificial intelligence ( AI ), to enhance efficiency and ensure worker safety in mining operations . This initiative is expected to result in significant cost savings and environmental benefits
The companies will exchange knowledge in smart blasting technology and mine safety solutions , work together to integrate their platforms for remote blasting capabilities , and investigate partnerships in telecommunications ,
Internet-of-Things ( IoT ) services , and expanding their presence in global markets . Their initial efforts will concentrate on deploying smart
mining solutions in Taebaek City , located in
Gangwon Province , renowned for its dense mining operations .
The partnership seeks to optimise mining operations and improve worker safety by leveraging advanced technologies such as automation , real-time monitoring , data analysis , and AI .
Indonesian connectivity on the up
Indonesia is a globally important mining country and here too , greater connectivity options are developing . Aviat Networks , Inc ., an expert in wireless transport and access solutions , has a new strategic collaboration agreement with PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk to deliver high speed , ultra-reliable wireless connectivity , private wireless indoor and outdoor networks , and industry digitalisation and automation services to private networks customers across Indonesia .
According to Omdia , by 2027 , private LTE and 5G networks combined will have a total market size of $ 7.4 billion worldwide . This partnership will leverage unique capabilities of both companies to deliver IOT technology , 4G / 5G private networks , and ICT solutions to Indonesian private networks and enterprises including hospitals , agriculture , mining , buildings , oil / gas
companies , factories , smart cities , and other vertical industries .
The objective of the agreement is to capture this market opportunity by enhancing the competitive positioning , and better serving Indonesian clientele through pre-sales and solution engineering , joint sales and market opportunity development , and integrated customer service and support .
As a result of its recent acquisition of NEC ' s Wireless Transport Business , Aviat is now the leading wireless transport provider in the Indonesian market and offers a comprehensive portfolio of wireless transport and access solutions , along with local presence throughout the country .
