SCREENING
Hewitt Robins screens for manganese ore processing
Hewitt Robins was awarded the contract to supply six washing screens to the world ’ s number one manganese ore mine . Manufactured to the highest standards , these screens were meticulously designed and built in 2022 , adhering to the ISO9001 quality standard . They underwent rigorous testing at Hewitt Robins headquarters to ensure exceptional performance .
Following successful testing , the screens were dispatched to the client ' s site . These six screens are installed over three production lines and have a combined processing capacity of approximately 900 t / h and will be washing the manganese ore to give a plus 8 mm product , 2-8 mm product , 1-2 mm product and -1 mm material .
The three primary screens are fed by wash barrels and the screens are 3 m wide x 6.5 m long , double deck screens . They are screening at 8 mm top deck and 2 mm bottom deck . The -2 mm washed manganese ore and water will then feed onto three secondary screens which are 3 m wide x 7.2 m long single deck screens . The secondary screens are all screening and washing the material at 1 mm .
Each machine is installed with cardan shaft drives and at the heart of every screen is a 2QV14 state-of-the-art pod type vibrator unit . vibrator unit . The 2QV14 unit is a selfsynchronised unit which is simple for maintenance and with no timing gears or heavy eccentric shafts or motor beams .
Each machine came complete with polyurethane liners , support springs , 2 x 30kw drive motors , rubber crossmember protection ,
polyurethane screening media and a complete spray bar washing assembly . These additions are designed to maximise efficiency , longevity , and ease of operation . The machines are now successfully commissioned and are fully operational .
of the raw materials used to manufacture the panels . However , the flame-resistant screen panels can be used without compromising on efficiency , compared to conventional rubber screen media ,” adds Faba .
He notes that Multotec is proud of the fact that its flame-resistant rubber screen media has received international acceptance and is in use at processing plants of some of the world ’ s leading iron producers . The flame-resistant screen panels can be used in all screening applications for a variety of duties , both wet and dry .
“ While we currently supply the flame-resistant rubber screen panels for iron ore screening applications in Western Australia , these panels can also be used in any screening-related application . They can be used extensively in all mineral processing applications , such as coal , iron ore , copper , platinum , diamonds , manganese , and zinc , among others .”
In addition to providing the greatest level of fire safety , Multotec ’ s flame-resistant panels also increase optimal screening performance and plant availability , are available in hard ( PD70 ) and soft ( PD45 ) durometer rubber , and remain robust and extremely reliable under the toughest mining conditions .

RECOVERY OF WASTE ROCK

A robust and effi cient process that enables the transformation of
waste into sellable fractions .
CONSERVATION OF THE QUARRY ´ S PRIMARY RESOURCE THROUGH THE VALORIZING OF WASTE FRACTION
All massive rock quarries produce , among other things and after blasting , fractions in the 0 / 30 or 0 / 40 mm range . These materials , to avoid problems of clogging in the process and prevent quality issues on the fi nal products , are removed by scalping before the primary crushing step .
Thanks to its unique AKA-DRUM Washing Drum for clay suspension and AKA-VORTEX Hydrocyclones multiple stages for superior desliming , AKW Equipment + Process Design has developed a solution capable of treating such waste stream and transform it into sellable products !
This solution allows the quarry owners and producers of gravel and sand to recover waste while preserving the raw reserves .
