which was not disclosed, was booked in the Minerals segment’ s 2026 first-quarter orders received.
Lloyds Metals & Energy is a mining and metals company with integrated operations spanning iron ore mining, sponge iron production, and steelmaking. The company’ s operations in Chandrapur District consist of a major sponge iron( DRI) and steel facility. The company is now expanding its plants at various locations and installing ten fully automatic Metso Larox ® FFP 3512 filters.
“ Metso has been a trusted partner in our growth journey. Their FFP filters are reliable machines that enable optimised concentrate production at our plants,” said Priya Ranjan Prasad, Director, Projects, Lloyds Metals & Energy Ltd.
“ Lloyds Metals & Energy is one of the fastest growing steel players in India, and we are proud to be associated with them on their prestigious expansion projects as a long-term supplier. Our filters, featuring advanced membrane technology and holeless filter cloths, deliver unmatched performance in moisture reduction and filter availability. The company is already successfully operating Metso filters at their pellet plant in Konsari,” said Vijay Dhar, Vice President, Minerals Sales, Middle East & India, Metso.
Looking at the service and aftermarket arena for filters, Metso recently signed two multi-year Life Cycle Services( LCS) agreements with key mining customers: a five-year contract with a major copper producer in South America and a four-year contract with a major lead / zinc producer in Asia Pacific.
The contracts support processing operations including parts, maintenance, and digital services for an extensive installed base of Larox ® PF filters. This customer partnership approach reinforces long-term operational reliability, performance, and sustainability objectives.
The orders total around € 60 million and one of the agreements is among the largest filtration LCS orders received by Metso to date. The agreements are based on Metso’ s

Larox ® PF Plate Pack Management Service( PPMS) concept, part of the Metso Plus offering. Optimising filtration performance across multiple sites, they combine planned maintenance, structure and programmed spare parts supply, repairs, upgrades, and expert support.
The service scope includes plate packs and spare parts, plate pack repairs and exchanges, service installation and technical support, filter upgrades and asset management solutions, as well as digital monitoring for condition tracking and performance optimisation. Local service support and workshop capabilities are also part of the agreements.
“ This long-term service model supports proactive maintenance, ensures predictable performance, and provides cost transparency, ultimately optimizing cost per ton in copper and base metals processing,” says Frank Araneda, Manager, LCS Solutions Sales at Metso.
The agreements support customers in improving plant availability, extending asset life, and ensuring consistent end-product quality. OEM repairs with warranty, upgrades, and digital tools enhance operational visibility and reduce unplanned downtime.
The lifecycle approach also advances sustainability by promoting component reuse and reducing material consumption. Reconditioning filter components significantly lowers embedded carbon compared to new equipment, supporting customers’ climate and resource efficiency targets.
“ These agreements highlight the strength of combining our installed base with deep product knowledge and comprehensive aftermarket capabilities,” says Miika Tirkkonen, Senior Vice President, Beneficiation, Dewatering and Hydrometallurgy at Metso.“ With our local service presence, digital solutions, and proven life cycle concepts, we focus on helping customers improve reliability,
increase predictability, and deliver measurable long-term value in their operations.” Metso’ s Plate Pack Management Service redefines maintenance, moving from reactive to proactive, unlocking predictable performance, optimised asset management, and sustained cost-per-ton efficiency.
Moving to thickeners, Harmony recently selected 20 m concentrate and 65 m tailings thickeners from Metso, equipped with Metso’ s Reactorwell™ for reduced flocculant usage and improved water recovery at the Eva Copper project in Australia.
And in Asia, as part of the frame agreement announced in August 2024, Reko Diq Mining Company awarded Metso with the remaining major contracts to supply advanced Metso Plus beneficiation and dewatering equipment for Reko Diq Mining Company’ s copper-gold project in Pakistan.
For concentrate filtration, Metso will deliver four Larox ® PF60 series filters and auxiliaries, as well as durable slurry pumps for primary and secondary stages of filtration. The delivery also includes five HRT High Rate Thickeners for different duties. All these thickeners are also equipped with Reactorwell technology, enabling superior performance.
DELKOR’ s MAXDri and HBF solutions
As the mining industry continues to redefine its approach to environmental stewardship and operational resilience, Dry Stack Tailings( DST) have emerged as important technology for the mines of the future. For iron ore producers such as Mineração Usiminas, the challenge was not simply to replace a conventional tailings storage method, but to implement a solution capable of handling large volumes of fine tailings while maximising water recovery, operational efficiency and long-term sustainability. The project marks an important operational milestone, transitioning the mine away from traditional wet tailings storage toward a safer, more water-efficient and sustainable dry stacking method.
Central to this transformation is DELKOR MAXDri Filter Press technology. Designed for the demanding requirements of modern beneficiation plants, the MAXDri range delivers the performance needed to convert fine and ultrafine tailings into a transportable, stackable filter cake suitable for dry stacking. Available with plate sizes of up to 3.0 m × 2.5 m and filtration areas of up to 1,600 m ², the technology combines multiport feeding, mixed membrane plate configurations and optimised chamber
