The Weir ENDURON ® ORBITAL screens can accommodate both modular flat decks and sidetension crown decks on the same deck structure
model sizes and , in some instances , across the C- series ( circular motion inclined ) and E-series ( elliptical motion horizonal ) screens .
The ENDURON ® ORBITAL range of screens are EN 1009 compliant , which allows operators to access screen media easily in multiple deck applications , while the modular all-bolted design means various parts can be individually replaced without needing to strip the entire screen . Further streamlining monitoring and maintenance , the screens can be digitally enabled , providing the operator with greater visibility of equipment health and performance , as well as providing the opportunity for process optimisation . Weir ’ s intelligent solution , NEXT , monitors bearing health , temperature , vibrations , acceleration , throw angle and overall screen health .
As miners strive to meet the growing demand for minerals in challenging operating environments , while at the same time trying to reduce their carbon footprint in line with their often quite ambitious targets , Weir says it is continuing to develop technologies to help them meet and exceed their exacting targets .
Metso expands offering in the Americas
Metso has expanded its standard product offering of screens for the North America , Mexico , and Central America markets with the TSE Series™ triple shaft screen . The new TSE series screen is a high-performance horizontal screen used in a wide range of wet or dry applications in coarse or fine screening . The TSE series screens are designed for superior accuracy and efficiency in a very compact installation .

The TSE Series offers a robust design to support the stresses generated by the high-performance mechanism that produces the high G elliptical motion . The rigidity in the design is provided by frames made from standard sections with K-bracing and with side plates that are huck bolted without any welding . The result is a reliable screen design with less natural frequencies and a much larger operating window . The high-performance mechanism offers the flexibility to operate the screen in a large range of applications due to the ease of gear and counterweight adjustments . The TSE Series screen ' s elliptical motion is combined with high acceleration , thereby bringing more performance in terms of throughput and screening efficiency .
The TSE Series screen is suitable for replacement of most standard triple shaft machines on the market in which minimal changes are required . Cited Metso TSE Series benefits include its robust , compact design which is also portable design due to low height , plus it has heavy duty construction . Its high performance elliptical motion of up to 6.5G ’ s brings efficiency at the separation of near-sized material . It has a wide range of applications including wet or dry screening , including coarse and fine screening and hard-to-separate sticky material . An easy adjusting mechanism enables the changing of the elliptical stroke and stroke angle for better production based on material type .
Metso ’ s intelligent mobile crushing and screening offering is also expanding with a new software application called Metso Remote IC . The new Metso Remote IC is used for remote control and monitoring of the crushing and screening process , and it connects wirelessly all the Lokotrack ® crushers and screens at the site . With the Metso Remote IC app , the operator can view all the Lokotrack train machines and their main process parameters using a single dashboard . The feeder and crusher settings can be adjusted safely from the excavator cabin , and the overall visibility of the process allows the operator to adjust the feeding for an optimal production level . In problem situations , the Remote IC automatically stops the feeder , thus preventing overloading . It also instantly alerts and provides a reason for the stoppage , making it quicker and easier to get back to operation . With a lower overflow risk , the process can be run closer to maximum capacity .
“ One of the key features of the Remote IC is that there is no need for the operator to exit the excavator cabin to adjust the crushers or to stop the feeder in an overflow situation ,” explains Toni Peltomäki , Director , Automation , at Metso ’ s Aggregates business area . “ The ability to control and monitor the crushing and screening process from a single application has a significant impact on safety and eventually process productivity , since unnecessary process stops can be avoided .”
The Remote IC app can be operated by one person and viewed by many . Everyone at the site can view the main process parameters and alarms . For example , the wheel loader driver can acknowledge the alarm and fix the problem .
The Metso Remote IC app can be used on Android tablet or mobile phone . It is available for all new Lokotrack models and can also be installed as a retrofit to all models that have the latest Metso Metrics installed . Metso Metrics is a cloud-based service for real-time performance information , maintenance planning and fleet management that works as a remote monitoring tool off-site .
