In Brazil , Diemme has two interesting current projects - four units of GHT2500F-26 for an iron ore tailings application for 700 t / h . A second major current project in Brazil is in copper and has two streams - one for concentrates and one for tailings . One unit , an ME2000F , will process 20 t / h of copper concentrate . This is the largest in the ME range of filters , which are side beam models featuring fast opening and includes both rinsing and high pressure washing . These ME models are popular in the concentrates market . The tailings stream has three GHT2500F-26 processing about 450 t / h .
Moving up into the tailings filter press giant models , as things stand , two Diemme GHT5000F filter presses have been delivered - one to Southern Copper Corp ’ s Toquepala copper mine in Peru where it is being assessed for rollout of

multiple units as part of tailings handling expansion ; this unit continues to run to required parameters and often exceeding them ; while unit two remains in Chile ready to be constructed , due to a delay in another copper project being built though it is expected to restart in the medium term . Plus Diemme is also working towards other options . Pezzi : “ While our largest unit remains the GHT5000F with 5x5 m plates we are also looking at boosting its capacity for some projects where we make it longer and increase the number of plates to 191 . This is a significant increase to our initial unit which had 141 plates for 8,000-10,000 t / d . The extended version is capable of 12,000-15,000 t / d plus . We are already offering this as an option . This is simply due to the fact that when you are talking about huge tonnages of tailings , you of course want to optimise the equipment as much as possible to reduce plant footprint and overall capital cost .”
A number of major mining company delegations have been to see the Toquepala unit and Pezzi said that discussions with some of these Tier 1 miners continue and that the momentum in terms of testing etc is building .
