UTILITY VEHICLES
The result: high-performance, applicationspecific equipment that drives measurable value underground.
Key solutions include:
• The Ultra High Lift, enabling safe and efficient work in high-drift environments;
• The 5-in-1 MINEJACK ® Multi Unit, reducing fleet size by combining multiple functions into a single machine;
• Hybrid long-boom, high-capacity ANFO loaders, designed for productivity in demanding production settings; and
• The Cassette System, increasing equipment utilisation while reducing emissions and downtime
By integrating engineering expertise from mining, offshore energy, marine and infrastructure sectors, Timberland brings a broader problem-solving approach – delivering solutions that improve safety, maximise uptime and lower total cost of ownership.
And the value doesn’ t stop at commissioning, according to the company.
“ In addition to quality manufacture of new equipment, all Timberland mine products are backed by our renowned team of support technicians and engineers for repair, renewal and customisation services,” Smith added. With lifecycle support built into every project, Timberland equipment is designed to perform for decades – often rebuilt and redeployed to meet evolving operational needs.
It concluded:“ For mining companies facing complex underground challenges, the advantage is clear: When standard equipment falls short, Timberland delivers a solution built specifically for the job. Because in this industry, performance isn’ t optional – and neither is the right equipment.”

Scaling new heights
Fletcher recently announced the release of the new Fletcher Simulators High-Reach Scaler simulator, developed in partnership with Simformotion™.
Set in an underground mining environment, the state-of-the-art High- Reach Scaler simulator creates a realistic environment for operators, with the system featuring authentic Fletcher controls and machine exercises developed so operators can learn real-world scaler applications in the safety of a virtual environment.
The simulator provides multiple exercises, a motion system to help operators learn tipping points and VR, which gives learners greater depth perception while practicing manoeuvres and techniques.
The multiple exercises teach operators to conduct a proper preoperation machine inspection, ensuring operational conditions, Fletcher says. Operators learn correct start-up and shut-down procedures and how to accurately and efficiently remove loose or unstable rock and debris from tunnel walls and roofs with the scaler, helping to ensure mine site safety and prevent falls or collapses before other machines and workers enter the area.
The exercises also include teaching learners how to safely and effectively tram the scaler, position the machine, scaling operations and much more, the company claims.
While operators practice their newly learned skills, the system’ s built-in reporting software, SimU Campus™, records their simulation sessions and generates reports.
Lara Aaron, Simformotion CEO, said:“ We recognise that safety in mine operations is critical, which is why the new Fletcher Simulators High Reach Scaler system teaches operators how to accurately, efficiently and safely remove loose or unstable rock and debris from tunnel walls and roofs. This procedure helps ensure the mine is safe before other workers and machines enter the area. As operators learn and practice the real-world skills on the authentic Fletcher controls, they also stay safe in the virtual, simulated mine environment.”
She adds:“ We frequently hear of the challenges mining operations have in finding operators. Fletcher Simulators help companies build their own workforce with knowledgeable, skilled operators.”
Ben Hardman, Fletcher COO, added:“ The new 4250-RD High Reach Scaler Simulator bridges education and industry, providing next-generation insights that empower professionals, operators and students to lead the way in responsible and efficient mining.”
The system also features a companion SimScholars online curriculum, a one-to-one match with the simulator exercises, which can be used in the classroom or for remote learning.
