HIGH PROFILE where large-scale mining operations are concentrated. Depending on the region and application, we serve the market directly with end users and OEMs, or through specialised partners and distributors.
Q Is there a large retrofit market in addition to installs on new machinery?
Yes, the retrofit market is very significant. Mining equipment often remains in operation for several decades. In such cases, upgrading braking systems or couplings can significantly improve safety, reliability and operational performance. Modernisation also allows the integration of new materials, updated engineering designs and monitoring technologies that were not available at the time of the original installation.
Q Where are the majority of your solutions for mining manufactured and are you able to easily supply mining customers globally?
A large portion of our products are manufactured in our production facilities in Europe, particularly in Germany and in Italy, complemented by other global manufacturing locations. Dellner Bubenzer operates through an international network of engineering, production and service centers, enabling us to support mining customers worldwide.
Q Who is the typical DB customer – do you work with mining companies directly, equipment OEMs, engineering houses or a combination of all of these?
We work with a combination of customer groups. These include mining equipment OEMs, engineering companies involved in large industrial projects, and mining operators themselves. This mix is important because many projects require close cooperation between equipment manufacturers, system integrators and end users.
Q How does DB work with customers when it comes to offering local maintenance and service solutions for your products – plus do you offer training to local technicians?
Dellner Bubenzer provides support through a global network of service teams and local partners. This includes maintenance services, inspections, spare parts supply and technical support, as well as training programs for customer maintenance teams, enabling operators to maintain and operate the systems safely and efficiently.
Q Do you also offer digital solutions for equipment health monitoring?
Yes, Dellner Bubenzer has supplied health monitoring solutions in the market since the 1990s which allow us gather experience

to provide a complete portfolio of digital condition monitoring solutions. These technologies enable continuous monitoring of key operational parameters such as wear, temperature and braking performance, supporting predictive maintenance strategies and increasing overall equipment availability. An example is the Belt Conveyor Control BCC3000 system, which is designed for the controlled braking of mining machines and applications. It is especially suited to installation on belt conveyors, where smooth braking is vital to prevent undue belt tensions leading to reduced component life. In addition to protecting the machine from excessive stresses during braking, the BCC3000 also offers system monitoring and diagnostics functions.
